I write code the way I think, close to the metal, suspicious of that mf abstraction I haven't earned yet.

software is the craft where I can build the tools I build with!

I'm drawn to systems, because understanding them makes everything else make sense. I want to know why the hell things work in the way it does (crazy shit when u know it).

I build in the open because closed work dies with your hard drive.

Most of what I make is unfinished (it's part of my nature I guess). I've made peace with that.

what I believe

• Complexity is usually a failure of design, not a requirement of the problem.
• Open source is an act of faith in strangers.
• Write tool for yourselves, they become the best like vim .

what this place is

Writing about things I'm figuring out. Projects mid-tinkering. Opinions I'll probably revise. Technical and non-technical slop.
